One of the best things about cabinet refacing is how little it disrupts your home compared to a full remodel. Here's how a typical project goes.
It starts with an in-home measure. We measure every door opening and drawer, check the condition of each cabinet box, and show you finish and hardware samples. You get a written estimate with the door style, finish, hardware and price before anything is ordered.
Once you approve the estimate, we order doors and drawer fronts made to your measurements. When they're ready, we schedule the install.
On install days, we remove the old doors and drawer fronts, apply a matching veneer to the cabinet frames and exposed sides, then hang the new doors and fronts with new hinges and pulls. Your countertops, sink and appliances can stay in place, so you can usually still use the kitchen in the evenings.
To prepare, empty the upper and lower cabinets or at least clear the front few inches of each shelf, and give us a clear path to the kitchen. If you're replacing countertops at the same time, we'll walk you through that schedule too.
Finally, we adjust every hinge so the doors line up evenly, clean up, and walk the kitchen with you. If anything isn't right, we fix it before we call the job done.
